My Washburn Traveller and the Cube

So some time ago I bought myself a travel guitar for holidays so that I am never far away from attempting to play something and keeping my mind sharp but, away from reading or playing on computers which is what I have to do everyday to keep me from the mean streets. Which, is ironic as I am sharing my thoughts through those very mean streets of the internet superhighway via a computer connection right now. Ironically once more the pic taken by my son Alex not on a camera but on an iPad3! Nevertheless (Good God that is a real word!) I liked what he had done impromptu and am quite excited that I will be spending 2 weeks with my mate Paul (Dobbie) Kaylow and my brother Terry hopefully playing some music and having the best time in New York and New Orleans watching some great music being made and busking. I have never done this but feel that in my 53rd year it is about time I did. I suppose I could do it in Louth, or Grimsby or Cleethorpes but shit Why not NY! and New Orleans! If I am gonna be shit anywhere I might as well be shit Right there It's up to you New York......................New Orleans.. Scuse the paraphrase. Any how here's the pic. Spose an audio/video would be good? I'll see what I can do. The G man xx Remember Don't take any shit. OK.

A new Roland Micro Amp

Just got myself a Roland Micro Amp. It sounds great. I have been putting my Washburn Rover through it as I intend to do a bit of busking in New Orleans in the summer with my brother Terry. It is basically his retirement holiday from driving trains in the UK. He is one of the best bass players and reluctant guitar players (even though the bugger is far better than most I have met) light under bushel syndrome. Last time I remember him busking I met him in London at Piccadilly Circus. He had his Baby Taylor with him and Plied me with Red wine form what he said was "the contributions" he received from playing. Jammy Git. Same day he was filed by a BBC crew filming some Kids TV programme which he tried to get paid for. It went out a few times. "Any hoo" The summer should be a blast Since seeing Wreckless Eric (and Amy) at their Celebrated Louth Gig I have been playing Tom Petty's Walls which kind of inspired me in lots of different directions. Thanks Eric. So my nails on my right hand and growing and the pads on my left hand fingers are getting harder. We have a week in NY at the end of July so will stand around trying to play and not get arrested on the streets of Manhattan. Then after an overnight train to New Orleans we will leave all the clever Jazz stuff to proper musicians and maybe make a few dollars enough to but a ticket to go see Kermit Ruffins while we are down there. Enough for now and I hope that I keep up this bog stuff. Hope you follow me and find it of interest. The G Man xx
